Forklift scale | OMEGA Waagen GmbH
There are different versions of forklift scales and all theadvantages and disadvantages. This is exactly what we would like to address and present the solutions for a forklift scale from OMEGA Waagen GmbH.
In addition to the conventional weighing forks, there are also weighing modules, which are installed behind the batteryload carriers. These achieve a significantly higher resolution.
Versions of forklift scales
As already briefly described, there are different versions of forklift scales. When deciding on the right system, the effort involved in assembly, the accuracy and, of course, the costs can serve as a decision-making aid.
Hydraulic weighing systems for forklifts
The sensor is connected to the hydraulic system of the forklift with a T-piece. This very simple installation is the biggest advantage of the D-LTP forklift scale. In conjunction with an evaluation, the weight is determined via the hydraulic pressure. This method achieves actionable weighing results with an accuracy of 0.5% to 5% of the weighing range. Sufficient for a quick incoming and outgoing goods inspection in the storage area and during loading. An overload of the forklift and shelving systems can also be prevented.
The price is manageable with about 880.00 EUR to 1130.00 EUR, depending on the evaluation. For the mentioned use, this is a good solution that withstands the cost / benefit comparison.
Weighing forks for forklifts
In this system, the load carriers of the forklift are "covered" with weighing forks. Load cells are mounted under the additional load holders, which achieve good weighing results depending on the quality and design. Dissolutions of up to 1 kg can be represented herewith and, in compliance with the legal provisions, these are also calibratable. An accuracy of +/- 0.2% of the weighing range can be achieved.
OMEGA Waagen GmbH offers the weighing forks in various versions with weighing ranges up to 5,000 kg. As a multi-range scale, this results in significantly higher resolutions than with a hydraulic weighing system.
500 kg / 1000 kg / 2500 kg
1 kg / 2 kg / 5 kg
1000 kg / 2500 kg
2 kg / 5 kg
1000 kg / 2500 kg / 5000 kg
2 kg / 5 kg / 10 kg
2500 kg / 5000 kg
5 kg / 10 kg
The "M" in the model designation stands for the classic representation of calibrancy. This means that the weighing forks may be used in custody transfer.
The evaluation electronics used are supplied with power via a battery or optionally connected to the mains of the forklift. The costs are between 3,100.00 EUR and 6,000.00 EUR, depending on the design of the system.
Forklift Weigh Modules
A very simple and yet very precise weighing system for forklifts. There is no need to make any changes to the forklift tines. The carrier is removed to mount the weighing module directly on the forklift. The load carrier is then attached to the weighing module. The robust design ensures the best weighing results with resolutions of up to 200 g! This corresponds to an accuracy of +/- 0.05% of the weighing range. More precisely, it is not possible with a forklift.
We have tested this system at one of our customers in continuous use – with success. The customer is so enthusiastic that he took over the system after the end of the test period with the words: "The thing stays here!". At this customer, about 40 industrial trucks are constantly in use in the storage area. Most of them are equipped with forklift tines for weighing, but do not deliver the required accuracy. Much more important, however, is that the tines do not build up higher.
If the tines of the forklift are to remain unchanged, excellent weighing results are to be achieved and, if necessary, a calibratable system is required, there is no way around this system.
The installation effort is low and the costs are manageable in relation to the resolution and the other advantages. For such a system, these are about 4,790.00 EUR.
The forklift scales are usually delivered in steel with a powder-coated surface. On request, however, special constructions can also be made of other materials.
Perfection with the right accessories
The accessories often decide on the use. Our scales and weighing systems have many options that can be booked. In the case of forklift scales, for example, it is advisable to use an app to display the weighing result not only in the cab of the forklift, but also on a mobile device. This is very helpful when picking.
The available accessories for the individual forklift scales can be found directly at the articles. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have and support you in choosing the right weighing system for your application.
