Bench scales | OMEGA Waagen GmbH
The application area of bench scales is very extensive. OMEGA Waagen GmbH offers many different designs with weighing ranges up to 30 kg. The use dictates the selection of the correct bench scale. We would be happy to assist you in choosing from our extensive range.
To find the right balance for your application, you should ask yourself the following questions:
Ø Which weighing range is required?
Ø What resolution is required?
Ø Is the application subject to calibration?
Ø Which certificates are required?
Ø What type of protection is required?
Ø Where to with the data?
Which weighing range is required?
The weighing range is the maximum load that can be placed on the scale. Bench scales often have a maximum weighing range of 30 kg. Weighing ranges up to 1.2 kg, 2.2 kg and 3.2 kg with a correspondingly high resolution can be found in the area of precision scales and analytical scales. Bench scales up to 6 kg, 15 kg and 30 kg are standard and are also used in legal-for-trade applications.
What resolution is required?
The resolution represents the smallest display steps. For fine scales and analytical scales, this is only a few milligrams. The resolution is correspondingly lower for bench scales with a higher weighing range. A 3,000 or 6,000 division can be assumed in custody transfer traffic. In non-calibration traffic, the resolution is usually twice as high. To determine the possible maximum resolution, the weighing range is divided by 3,000 or 6,000.
Is it a legal for trade application?
In principle, it can be stated that a legal-for-trade application is always given if the weight determined on the scale is used to calculate a price. In addition, other applications are reserved exclusively for verified scales. You can find out more on our blog.
The scale does not have to be verified for internal use. If quality management is used, calibration is usually required.
Which certificates are required?
If the balance is verified, there is a rating plate with the legal-for-trade identification on the balance. This includes the CE marking followed by a rectangle in which there is an "M" and the last two digits of a year. In addition, there must be a declaration of conformity for this balance. A log of the test is not required for the user.
An ISO calibration protocol or factory calibration protocol is completely sufficient within the scope of DIN EN ISO 9001. In our factory test, we proceed in accordance with DIN 45501 and thus meet the requirements for verified scales. In contrast to calibration, compliance with error limits is not necessary here. Rather, the protocol on the test shows the actual errors of the bench scale.
A DAkkS calibration meets the highest documentation requirements. It is required in the range of ISO TS.
All ordered certificates will be sent to you with the delivery. You will also receive the logs as a PDF file. We have a copy for you in our documentation. This is always uncomplicated and can be called up at short notice.
Our test equipment is calibrated regularly and is traceable. We have the relevant documentation and will make it available to you on request.
The monitoring of measuring equipment has a very high priority within the framework of quality management systems. We are happy to take on this task for you. On request, we can include your scales in our test equipment monitoring. We will inform you about upcoming exams in good time. On request, we can also do this for you. With this service you gain legal security and never miss an appointment. The best thing about it: Inclusion in our test equipment service is free of charge for you. Only if the necessary examinations have been commissioned will there be costs for the examination.
What type of protection is required?
The degree of protection required depends on the application. If the balance is used in a damp room or if complex cleaning is required, the degree of protection of the balance must also be high. We offer bench scales with a maximum degree of protection IP67. This even allows temporary immersion. You can find out more about the degrees of protection on our blog
Where to put the data?
In many cases it is sufficient that the weighing data is displayed. Printing may also be necessary and is possible with our printers. Serial data transmission is already included in the standard for most bench scales. Some scales enable data transmission via Bluetooth or WiFi.
Most scales are made of plastic with a stainless steel load sensor. Our delivery program also includes stainless steel versions. These are often used in the food industry.
Our bench scales are available in accuracy class C3 or C6. Depending on the application, very high and reproducible resolutions can be achieved with the C6 version.
In our blog, we covered the topic of accuracy classes in great detail.
Separate displays are part of the accessories offered. You will also find printers in various designs for a wide variety of applications in our product range. An Android app can optionally be used to display the weighing results on a mobile device.
